16oz can. No dating information found. Prominent yellow color can. Label has ABV% at 5.5%. Tribute and donation friendly beer (Ales for ALS).
Partly cloudy straw colored body. One thin finger of white head, which quickly retreats to an island and a ring. Leaves behind rings and strings of lacing.
Aroma is citrus orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. Toasted malt base.
Taste has a balance of sweet and bitter. Flavors of melon, orange, pineapple for the sweet and pine resin for the bitter. Malt base. Aftertaste gets more of the hop vegetal and woody flavor.
Thinner than medium mouth feel. Drying finish. Good carbonation.
Solid brew for this annual tribute beer. Has a real thirst quenching quality.

Grabbed this and way too much other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Their website called the release “For the first time in cans, we are thrilled to release Kelvin Strong, a beer we brew annually in loving memory of our dear friend who we lost to ALS in 2017. Kelvin's passion for craft beer inspires us to this day, and to honor his memory, this year's iteration of Kelvin Strong is brewed with Orange Blossom Honey and an exciting blend of hops curated by Ales for ALS. We donate $1 from every pint sold to this important organization, so join our efforts in bringing awareness & finding a cure for ALS by enjoying this brand new Pale Ale!” Untappd calls it a West Coast Pale Ale hopped with ALS hop blend (Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, Sabro, Ekuanot, Loral, Ahtanum and HBC 630) and orange blossom honey.

Poured a pale yellow clear color with three fingers of rocky white head. Plenty of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Almost perfect uneven foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled orange creamsicle, orange blossom, passion fruit, Fruity Pebbles, Mosaic, floral, Citra, lemon candy, guava, stone fruit, Sabro, Loral, honey and soapy pine. Even better out of the can with the addition of tangerine. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste wasn’t quite as good, but still solid. In order got tangerine pulp, orange, orange creamsicle, orange blossom, passion fruit, guava, Fruit Loop cereal, Mosaic, floral, lemon candy, Citra, stone fruit, Loral, Sabro, coconut, honey, soapy pine and peppery spice. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Just an excellent pale ale. Glad I picked up a can. (Overall - 4.25)

Clear golden amber brew with plenty of foam in the Piraat chalice. Spritzy on the tongue with abundant suds. Rather tangy though not overly sharp. Aroma of hay, lime, and a touch of pine. Some malty body. Tastes of mixed citrus peel with a cereal base.

For some reason I thought this was a Pale Ale-- though rather bold, methinks. OK, it's a less bold sort of IPA. Quite drinkable in the usual bitter fashion with the aftertaste of grapefruit peel. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine Y Vine. Canned on 12/02/20.
