Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (water) glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in San Diego (Del Cerro), Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 12, 2022
Consumed: Oct. 25, 2022
Misc.: Collaboration with Alvarado Street; Canned on Oct. 4, 2022
Went over to Windmill Farms from work and ended up once again spending way too much on beer. Burgeon’s website describes this beer as “California Coast is our DDH Hazy West Coast IPA collaboration brewed with our friends Alvarado Street Brewery and originally released in 2018.” Mentioned hops were Strata, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo and Nelson.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the sides (faster) and bottom (slower) of the glass, looking like a snow globe. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Strata jumped out on the nose, followed by Mosaic and then Nelson. Also dank weed, pine, grass, mixed berry, mango, rose blossom, floral, red grapefruit, tangerine, peach and citrus rind. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but still solid. In order got big Strata, dank weed, pine, grass, Mosaic, mixed berry, red grapefruit, mango, rose blossom, floral, Nelson, peach, tangerine, citrus rind, papaya, orange peel and hints of caramel. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another awesome beer from Burgeon (and Alvarado Street). Slightly underrated this as well. (Overall - 4.25)
