Was excited to try my favorite hop from a top-10 brewery for me. Wanted to go out to Burgeon to get it originally when it came out about a month prior, but thought it would be tough to get out there that day (it was a Thursday), even if the cool glass was available for purchase too. Online description read, “Single-hopped West Coast IPA with Mosaic & Mosaic Cyro.” Was really looking forward to it.
Poured a dark gold-to-light amber clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of fast-moving bubble streams coming up the center of the glass. Excellent spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled Mosaic, blueberry, fresh pine, herbal, mango, fresh cut grass, stone fruit, peach, floral, mango blossom and bubblegum. Not as good from the can, but had the addition of earthy malt. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted better than the nose. More flavorful. In order got Mosaic, mango, fresh pine, black peppery spice, stone fruit, peach, mixed berry, herbal, fresh cut grass, floral, mango blossom and bubblegum. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Really liked this. Outstanding overall, but I may have overrated this slightly. (Overall - 4.25)
