Light and crisp malt bill, carb right. I'll go with the cheerios and passionfruit description, but a dank passionfruit. Not getting the light grape character I have from other brews w/nelson - but this is the only solo nelson I've tried and the taste is dank and earthy, not light and fruit.

Clear bright yellow with a persistent cap of foam in the big chalice. Crisp, very crisp and prickly on the tongue. Quite zingy but stops just short of acidity. Interesting aromatics with lemon and cucumber. Flavors of green melon, green mango, cucumber, green pepper.
Not very malty, which sets it apart from so many current big-hop brews. Fairly dry finish with just enough bitterness. I'm going to have to look for more Burgeon beers, they rarely disappoint. This is one of my favorite IPAs so far this year. From the 16 oz can delivered from Best Damn in San Diego.

16oz canned 2-18-20. Opened 4-17-20.
1 1/2" white head, good retention and great lacing. Bright golden, clean and clear IPA.
Bright and tangy notes of peach and white grape on top, with wet and earthy weeds underneath.
White grape Nelson goodness, zesty Sauvignon Blanc-ish, tangy fruit flavors. Light doughy malt backing.
Light body, medium carbonation. Uplifting light/bright mouthfeel. Tangy and zesty hops filled medium length finish.
Very good.

Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $3.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 16, 2020
Consumed: Jan. 17, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 9, 2020
Was excited to see this for the first time and to have it eight days after it was canned. Gave Keep it Simcoe a 4.18 and Keep it Mosaic a 4.19. Untappd description read, “West Coast single hopped IPA with hand selected Freestyle Farms Nelson Sauvin!!”
Poured a light amber clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Lots of fast moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass and a little slower on the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled earthy malts, Cheerios, Nelson, white grape, white wine, bitter viney berry, dry passion fruit, unknown spice and grapefruit peel. Much of the same from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t as good as the nose. A bit earthy than I’d want, similar to the first thing I got from the nose. In order got earthy 2-row, Cheerios, Nelson, peppery spice, white grape, white wine, viney berry, dry passion fruit and bitter grapefruit peel. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Outstanding overall, but somehow a bit disappointed. (Overall - 4.00)

Clear West Coast with Nelson, nose a bit mute, mouthfeel a bit thin, but the deliciousness that are Nelson hops comes though in the taste. Diesel and dank prominent, grapes and berries subtlely in tow. Doesn't wow you like Nelson Takes Flight, but it's a solid brew nonetheless.
Updated based on can in San Diego region CA Craft Beer Week box. Can is 17 days old.
This time the nose is more prominent and the taste is underwhelming. Raising Smell score from 3.75 to 4, and lowering Taste from 4.25 to 4.0.
