Mosaic Roots single-hop hazy IPA explores the aromatic & tropical complexities we love about Mosaic hops, gushing with notes of pineapple, guava, and papaya, with a fruit-forward late hop expression and mouthfeel like a raincloud about to burst.

Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $18.00 for a 4-pack
From: Burgeon Beer Company in Carlsbad, Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 15, 2021
Consumed: Jan. 16, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Pre-ordered this since I was going to be picking up my Depth bottle anyway. Kind of regretted getting a 4-pack because I could’ve waited and got a solo one at Windmill Farms later. But knowing that it was Burgeon and Mosaic hops, I’m sure I would enjoy it. Their website called this “Mosaic Roots single-hop hazy IPA explores the aromatic & tropical complexities we love about Mosaic hops, gushing with notes of pineapple, guava, and papaya, with a fruit-forward late hop expression and mouthfeel like a raincloud about to burst.” I love single-hopped IPAs, especially Mosaic ones so I was really looking forward to it.
Poured a light golden hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled big Mosaic (obviously) along with cotton candy, bubblegum, blueberry, rose blossom, floral, pine, mango, guava, stone fruit, some herbal and some earthy malt late. Not quite as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.50)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. Wow. Got Mosaic, blueberry, bubblegum, cotton candy, rose blossom, floral, citrus pulp, pine, mango, guava, stone fruit, herbal and some earthy malt. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, lingering finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Hot damn this was awesome. Burgeon does the best Mosaic beers in San Diego. Sorry, North Park. (Overall - 4.25)

Had on tap at Beer Revolution in Oakland. A nice light bodied, hoppy IPA.
