Cloud Cast is a new Double Dry-Hopped Pale Ale loaded with Riwaka, Nelson, and NZ Cascade. That outstanding trio of Southern Hemisphere hops is unlike any combo we've experienced, illuminating a fruit-bowl of tropical aromas and flavors.

Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 16, 2020
Consumed: Dec. 29, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Nov. 25, 2020
Grabbed this and way too much other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Burgeon’s website called it “Cloud Cast is a new Double Dry-Hopped Pale Ale loaded with Riwaka, Nelson, and NZ Cascade. That outstanding trio of Southern Hemisphere hops is unlike any combo we've experienced, illuminating a fruit-bowl of tropical aromas and flavors. #Push4Pales.”
Poured a light golden clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Could see some nice bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled viney berry, bubblegum, white grape, pine, herbal, menthol, dish soap, lemon zest and grapefruit. For hops, Nelson led the way, followed by Cascade and (admittedly still new to) Riwaka. A little better out of the can with the addition of some peach. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the can. In order got lemon zest, viney berry, tangerine, Nelson, Cascade, pine, grapefruit, white grape, Juicy Fruit, herbal and (looking at the hop profile) Riwaka. (Taste - 4.25)
Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, clean finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just an excellent pale ale. A really good beer. (Overall - 4.25)
