Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: June 11, 2021
Consumed: July 11, 2021
Misc.: Canned on May 27, 2021
Went to Windmill Farms to grab some stuff for Chad and $113 later I had way too much beer. Untappd description was “West Coast IPA brewed with a light malt bill and hopped heavily with Strata, Citra & Simcoe.”
Poured a clear straw color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see some bubbles coming up, more from the bottom of the glass than the sides. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Strata jumped out on the nose, followed by Simcoe and then Citra. Specifically red grapefruit, strawberry, passion fruit, papaya, mixed berry and dank pine. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted just about as good as the nose. In order got Strata, strawberry, red grapefruit, passion fruit, papaya, Simcoe, mixed berry, dank pine, Citra and some earthy malt. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Damn. Just an excellent West Coast IPA from Burgeon. (Overall - 4.25)
