Fourth Mirage is a juicy Double IPA that packs a vibrant punch with Strata, Nelson, and Mosaic hops leading the way.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $4.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 26, 2020
Consumed: Jan. 15, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Dec. 16, 2020
Grabbed this and 10 other singles when I planned to go to Windmill Farms for two other 6-packs (I still got those). Burgeon’s website called this “Fourth Mirage is a juicy Double IPA that packs a vibrant punch with Strata, Nelson, and Mosaic hops leading the way.” Ha, that’s funny. The beer I just reviewed before this one was a Burgeon/Alvarado Street collab and had Mosaic, Nelson and Strata. Hopefully this one is as good.
Poured a light gold hazy color with three fingers of rocky white head. Could see some bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect wet foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Mosaic, floral, orange creamsicle, tangerine, grapefruit, Strata, pine, pineapple, lemon zest, Nelson, grass and perfume. Grew on me each whiff. More orange flavors from the can and some earthy malt. (Smell - 4.00)
First thought on the taste was that I was getting all that 8 pct. ABV. Got Strata, grapefruit, tangerine, orange blossom, grass, Nelson, Mosaic, pine, lemon zest, pineapple, grass and floraly perfume. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another outstanding offering from Burgeon. (Overall - 4.00)
