Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $4.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 13, 2021
Consumed: Aug. 20, 2021
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 3, 2021
Snuck over to Windmill Farms before heading to Pure Project and North Park, mainly to see what kind of newish North Park stuff they had. Came across this one from Burgeon. Bine & Vine’s website calls it “Hazy IPA hopped with Galaxy, Citra, and Idaho 7.”
Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden semi-hazy color with five fingers of rocky white head. Plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. Almost perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Galaxy, Citra, passion fruit, peach, grapefruit, dank pine, resin, Idaho 7, herbal, tea, lime and citrus notes. Grew on me as it went down. About the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted similar to the nose, maybe not quite as good. It seemed like a mix of hazy IPA and a West Coast IPA. In order got Galaxy, pine, dank resin, Citra, grapefruit peel, peach, passion fruit, Idaho 7, lime, herbal, tea, citrus notes and papaya. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, dank finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This one grew on me as it went down. I still think it’s like a East Coast/West Coast hybrid, but I enjoyed it. (Overall - 4.00)
