Hand Selected is a West Coast Pale Ale crafted to showcase hops that we hand-selected straight from the source. We are extremely fortunate to have cultivated strong relationships with our hop brokers and farmers, and the experience of holding lupulin-loaded cones and knowing the magic they will bring us in future brews is inspiring. We wanted to convey that all the way from concept to can design.

These Mosaic & Simcoe hops will give you notes of passionfruit, blueberries, and sweet citrus, with a medium bitterness & a light piney finish.

Grabbed a bunch of There Does Not Exist and Burgeon beers, and a few others on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Bine & Vine’s website called it “It’s all in the name: Hand Selected is a West Coast Pale Ale crafted to showcase hops that we hand-selected straight from the source. These Mosaic & Simcoe hops will give you notes of passionfruit, blueberries, sweet citrus, with a medium bitterness & a light piney finish.”

Poured a pale-to-medium yellow clear color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass, looking slightly like a snow globe. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled big lemon, herbal, citrus, blueberry, Mosaic, passion fruit, Fruit Loop cereal, lime, pine, Simcoe and grapefruit rind. Not quite as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose but still really good. In order got lemon, herbal, citrus, blueberry, Mosaic, passion fruit, Fruit Loop cereal, lime, Simcoe, pine, black pepper and lingering bitter aspirin. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Clean, crisp finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Just a really good pale ale. Burgeon is not giving up on this style and neither should you. (Overall - 4.25)

Clear golden amber brew with plenty of foam in the Chimay chalice. Just enough wheat, apparently, to give it a smooth mouthfeel. Aroma of light citrus with a hint of honeydew. Flavors of lime, green melon, and a hint of celery. More hops, less biscuit in this Pale ale.

Moderate bitter finish. Hops are listed as Mosaicc and Simcoe. Highly sippable, well balanced, with the mouth-filling carbonation. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine Y Vine. Dated 02/16/22.
