Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Firestone 16-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: May 27, 2022
Consumed: June 2, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a can of this and a bunch of other stuff on a trip to Windmill Farms. Burgeon’s website called this “Our ode to O’side, this west coast crusher packed with Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, & Chinook is finally releasing in cans! After an amazing series of draft releases (& after our team kicked a couple of kegs) we HAD to bring it back in cans to pay tribute to our northern neighbors, Oceanside!”
Poured a medium yellow clear color with 4-to-5 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of fast-moving bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass, picking up steam about halfway through. Very impressive. Perfect layered foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled Simcoe, pine, dank resin, black pepper, grapefruit, lime, herbal, menthol, Chinook, wood and caramel. Better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted Simcoe, pine, resin, black pepper, grapefruit, Chinook, wood, caramel, Centennial, lime, herbal, menthol and hints of black licorice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Slightly bitter finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Outstanding overall. Just a really nice West Coast IPA. (Overall - 4.00)
