Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $3.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Jan. 8, 2022
Consumed: Jan. 27, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Dec. 23, 2021
Went to Windmill Farms for some bread and a 6-pack of Enegren’s The Lightest One, and came back with nine other singles. Gave Keep it Simcoe a 4.18, Keep it Mosaic a 4.19, Keep it Nelson a 4.13, Keep it Citra a 4.18 and Keep it Strata a 4.11. Untappd description read, “Single Hopped West Coast IPA with our hand-selected freestyle Riwaka hops.” Still somewhat knew to Riwaka, but looks like it calls for grapefruit, passion fruit and kumquat.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see some bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class layered foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled black pepper, popcorn, resin, pine, dry grass, herbal and grapefruit peel. A little better out of the can with some earthy malt. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted a tad better than the nose. Got black pepper, popcorn, Riwaka, passion fruit, pine, resin, dry grass, herbal, mango and red grapefruit. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Very good overall but was by far my least favorite of the series so far. (Overall - 3.75)
