Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Pure Project 3rd anniversary 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 27, 2022
Consumed: Sept. 8, 2022
Misc.: Canned on July 18, 2022
Grabbed a 4-pack of Enegren and a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Bine & Vine’s website called for “Reclaim the Sea is our tree-planting IPA collaboration with SeaTrees where every pint sold goes to restoring California’s carbon-sequestering coastal kelp forests!” Mentioned hops on the can were Citra, Strata and Chinook.
Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Pretty calm underneath with just a few bubbles trickling up along the sides of the glass. Good spotty lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled strawberry, Strata, Citra, grapefruit, guava, floral, grapefruit rind, pine, lime and hints of black pepper. Not quite as good from the can with some earthy malt coming through. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was not quite as good as the nose. In order got Strata, strawberry, peppery spice, bitter grapefruit rind, pine, Citra, guava, floral and citrus zest. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. By far the best part of this beer. (Feel - 4.75)
Another solid beer from Burgeon and I underrated this overall. (Overall - 4.00)
