What happens when T-90 and Cryo forms of the experimental hop HBC 586 show up to the party arm-in-arm with Citra and @freestylehops Nelson? A new 8% westie is born. At 75 IBUs, this giant of an IPA stands a head above our usual hop offerings on the bitterness scale, but don’t let that fool you; Exponential Stoke radiates bright, sweet fruit aromas & flavors of mango, guava, & lychee that float on a balanced, refreshing body until the final, gently resinous sip.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $4.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 21, 2022
Consumed: Sept. 22, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Aug. 22, 2022
Went to Windmill Farms specifically for Dino Park, a collab between Toppling Goliath and North Park. Unfortunately it wasn’t there so instead I bought 12 singles and a 6-pack of Aurora Hoppyalis. Had this one three times before at Brigantine in June and July (2022), giving each a 4.25. Wrote “Dank Air Force” for the first one. Burgeon’s website called for “What happens when T-90 and Cryo forms of the experimental hop HBC 586 show up to the party arm-in-arm with Citra and @freestylehops Nelson? A new 8% westie is born. Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled HBC 586, mango, guava, Nelson, pine, dank weed, Citra, grapefruit peel, pineapple, tangerine, white grape and floral. Just as good from the can with pineapple and dank weed leading the way. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got HBC 586, mango, guava, Nelson, pine, dank weed, Citra, pineapple, grapefruit peel, tangerine and white grape. Fairly smooth for 8.0 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.75)
Just as good as I remember it from the other three times. Underrated it for sure, too. (Overall - 4.50)
