Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: Milkshake IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $5.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 7, 2021
Consumed: Aug. 20, 2021
Misc.: Canned on July 21, 2021
Snuck over to Windmill Farms for a lunch break from work, just to see if they had anything new since my last trip there. Came across this one from Burgeon. Burgeon’s website described it as a “Fruited Hazy IPA hopped with Idaho 7, Cashmere, and El Dorado. Fruited with Blueberry, Peach and Vanilla Bean.”
Poured a brownish murky color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Very good spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled peach, vanilla bean, peach ice cream, floral, blueberry, purple grape and lemon. Couldn’t really pick out any specific hop. A little better from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste followed the nose for the most part. In order got peach milkshake, vanilla bean ice cream, orange creamsicle, floral, blueberry, purple grape, lemon, mango sorbet, melon and cantaloupe. For hops, I think both El Dorado and Cashmere were there. Wasn’t getting much Idaho 7, especially after I just had a beer before with Idaho 7 as one of the main hops. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, sweet finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Really liked this for what it was. Would have it again for sure. (Overall - 4.00)
