Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $5.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Aug. 27, 2021
Consumed: Sept. 23, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Burgeon’s website called this “Hazy IPA hopped with Vic Secret, Idaho 7, and Sabro, then loaded with Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava.”
Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden murky color with 3-to-4 fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled passion fruit, orange, guava, pineapple, orange creamsicle, vanilla, peach, stone fruit and coconut. For the mentioned hops, got a little bit of each, in order - Vic Secret, Idaho 7 and Sabro - but the POG really dominated. About the same from the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted much better than the nose. Big POG - passion fruit, orange and guava - orange creamsicle, vanilla, Vic Secret, grapefruit, stone fruit, peach, coconut, lemon zest, Idaho 7 and hints of Sabro. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Even better than I thought it would be. Really liked this one. (Overall - 4.25)
