Headed over to Windmill Farms to look for some new North Park ones. Was out of luck there but did come away with eight other cans. Untappd description called for “Modern West Coast Pale hopped w/Strata, Simcoe, Amarillo & Cascade Cryo.”
Poured a bright medium yellow clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class layered foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled Strata, pine, grass, grapefruit, lemon, passion fruit, Simcoe, papaya, dank weed, viney berry and tangerine rind. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted almost as good as the nose. In order got Strata, dank weed, pine, grass, bitter grapefruit peel, garlic, onion, passion fruit, lemon, Simcoe, black pepper, papaya, viney berry and tangerine rind. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just another excellent pale ale from Burgeon. They are making the best West Coast Pale Ales in San Diego by far. (Overall - 4.25)
