Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: Monkish 16-oz. mug
Price: $5.59
From: Windmill Farms in San Diego (Del Cerro), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 28, 2022
Consumed: Oct. 20, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 16, 2022
Not sure of all the specifics on this trip to Windmill Farms but apparently I didn’t purchase many new beers. Bine & Vine’s website called for “This Fresh Hop West Coast IPA is hyper-charged with loads of lupulin squeezed from Strata hop cones that were picked from the bines & heaped into the brew within mere hours of harvest. Massive shout-out to the brilliant folks Indie Hops & Goschie Farms for this crop of explosively aromatic & eye-opening Strata!”
Poured a pale yellow clear color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom and sides of the glass. Excellent foggy-to-foamy lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled pine cone, dank pine, weed, grass, Strata, wintergreen, mango, purple grape, mixed berry and coconut. About as good from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste wasn’t as good as the nose. In order got pine cone, dank pine, weed, grass, Strata, wintergreen, mango, purple grape, mixed berry, hints of plum, coconut, orange rind and lingering peppery spice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt, clean, slightly spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Another good beer from Burgeon. Not surprised. (Overall - 4.25)
