5th Anniversary Hazy IPA brewed in collaboration w/Freestyle Hops. The beer showcases the unique Kohia Nelson blend containing Nelson, Motueka, NZ Cascade, Wakatu & dried Passionfruit. For good measure we added more NZ Cascade.

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (fire) glass
Price: $4.29
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 17, 2022
Consumed: Feb. 20, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 12, 2022
Figured it had been awhile since I’d been to Windmill Farms so I stopped by for a sandwich and grabbed four beers as well. Burgeon’s website called this beer “In celebration of our 5th Anniversary, our thirst for adventure led us to source an experimental ingredient from the most extraordinary place on earth: New Zealand. Prime Five is a juicy IPA loaded with "Kohia Nelson," an innovative new botanical hop blend consisting of equal parts Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, NZ Cascade, Wakatu, and dried Kohia Passion Fruit.”
Poured a light-to-medium golden hazy color with four fingers of rocky white head. Could see plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class foamy lacing. Perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Nelson, papaya, tangerine, passion fruit, bubblegum, lime, lemon zest, floral and hints of pine. Even better from the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted earthy Nelson, tangerine, papaya, passion fruit, bubblegum, earthy spice, lime, lemon zest, floral and hints of pine. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Long, dry finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Another solid beer from Burgeon. This was outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)
