Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $2.99
From: Windmill Farms in San Diego (Del Cerro), Calif.
Purchased: Sept. 21, 2022
Consumed: Sept. 28, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Sept. 12, 2022

Went to Windmill Farms specifically for Dino Park, a collab between Toppling Goliath and North Park. Unfortunately it wasn’t there so instead I bought 12 singles and a 6-pack of Aurora Hoppyalis. Had this one once before, giving a taster a 4.00 on Jan. 16, 2022 and writing “Was so looking forward to this. It’s not The Lightest One (Enegren), but it’s still outstanding.” The description for this beer on Burgeon’s website was “Brewed in celebration of Oktoberfest, this German-style Helles is a malt accented lager crafted with Pilsner, Munich, and Carafoam balancing pleasant malt sweetness with a welcoming body. Perle & Hallertau Mittelfruh Noble hops add a floral flair with a slightly restrained bitterness.”

Poured a pale yellow clear color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy head. Could see lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom (faster) and sides (slower) of the glass, kind of looking like a snow globe. World-class uneven lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled sourdough bread, Noble hops, black pepper, dry grass, floral, pear, apple, green grape and pine. Not as good going down. A little better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Taste wasn’t as good as the nose but had the similar qualities. In order got sourdough bread, Noble hops, bitter dry grass, black pepper, floral, pear, apple, green grape and pine. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium-to-light body. Creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Abrupt, dry, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.75)

Similar to the last time I had it, I wanted this to be a little better. Still outstanding though I just wanted more. (Overall - 4.00)

Pours a clear amber with white foam in the Piraat tulip. Aroma is cereal and biscuits. The mouthfeel is clean and crisp with plenty of carbonation. This is warm and malty, but not sweet, though there is a honey taste that is quite nice. Just a touch of leafy hops and a hint of bitterness in the finish. There is not much to say about this, but overall it is an excellent Lager with enough flavor to be a satisfying quaff. From the 16 oz can purchased at the liquor store in Cardiff. Dated 09/10/24.
