Steady Rolling Man. Our pale ale. Inspired by the ridiculously tasty hoppy beers we discovered, we got brewing our own versions, over and over again, while listening to the blues greats. The heady concoction of old time blues records and juicy American hops transfixed us from the start and the rolling man was born in these sessions! Incredibly soft and delicate with intense tropical fruit hop aromatics and saturation, this is our vision of the perfect pale ale.

First, I call this a Hazy Pale. While DEYA's Description pays homage to American hops, this Looks so hazy and fluffy that I can't think of it in the APA style.

Second, I had this from the cask at Beer Merchants Tap and simultaneously had the cask side-by-side with the can. An interesting comparison; but of course the cask was softer, fresher and more flavourful. I'm reviewing the cask ale.

Steady Rolling is a good name because this is DEYA's flagship and it seems steady without pulsating surprises. Steady Looks a generous foam which recedes. Smells are very Hazy Ale, tropical. Tastes are balanced if you like fruit punch (I do.) While the aromatic hops could be considered high, the bitter hops are modest... certainly fewer than typical APAs. Better than medium-mouthed. I give DEYA good Overall Hugs. It is not easy for a micro to do Good Guy things and survive for 10 years in the middle of not much but rural.

Copenhagen 11/2 2022. 50 cl can from Mikkeller webshop. Pink can with a simple drawing of a blues musician, a guitar and a wreath.

Pours unclear - almost hazy - yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as a thin, almost transparent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of tropical fruits and sweet citrus fruit. Mingling with tart citric notes. Peach and sweet blood orange. Hints of lemonade. Citrus and lemon giving a tart streak.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a distinct sweet undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.

Nice but a bit generic.

On tap at The Temple Brew House, London, England.
A wonderful looking pour with a weak nose.
Lot of pine resin notes with a very nice bitter hop finish.

Half pour at House of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden with small fluffy head. Spot on for the NEIPA style, would give Revision a runoff their money. Light and citrusy, tangy and bitter. Nice.

A mild and balanced pale ale. As Deya's flagship, this is solid performer, but I think it could use more hop character and that their IPAs are stronger representatives of their style. Not bad at all, by any means, just a little boring.

500 ml can, from KWM Wines & Spirits, as Deya Steady Rolling Man Pale Ale. ABV is 5.2%. Hazy pale yellow colour, large white head. Distinct aroma of lychee, rambutan and pineapple. Light bodied. Flavour of citrus and said tropical fruits, not too sweet, a little pine in the finish, but a firmer bitterness would not hurt. Still a fairly decent NEPA as it is.

I tried this beer off the tapper at Shillings brewery in Glasgow as part of a four sample flight . It poured a slightly hazy golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had bitter pine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp malt base and bitter pine resin presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

really exceptional new england style pale here, super drinkable but also properly modern, maybe the most sort of up to date and expressive hoppy beer i had while in london, downright awesome stuff, my very first from deya, heck of an introduction. this is a creamy white headed, golden wheaty colored brew with excellent carbonation activity and pretty web lacing as it drinks. smells as soft as it looks, could be citra leading the charge, but definitely new world hops happening here, and all or mostly in a dry hopped capacity, juice forward with navel orange and meyer lemon leaping out of the glass, some herbal hop character backing that up, and a perhaps multigrain cereal base as well, but all very pale, could be some unmalted wheat too. the flavor is great, hop driven but in a subtle enough way to still rightly be called pale ale, not ipa. no bitterness here really at all, even as it warms up, and a great hop profile that hints at ripe cantaloupe, canned pineapple, and mixed citrus. just a little oily thing to the feel before the rushing carbonation and astounding dryness cleanse the palate to conclude each sip, i taste this fresh and new again each drink i take. the texture is great, pillowy and approachable, light but not watery, its fluffy and even sort of delicate. really well refine beer overall here, more american than english in every way, neat to see what foreign brewers are becoming capable of in these styles, this was a ton of fun to drink, was a perfect pizza beer, and is low enough in alcohol and with enough flavor intrigue that i could have made a night of drinking pints of this. yum!

500ml can from Wee Beer Shop, Glasgow (£5.80):
Hazy golden with a foamy white head just over 1cm tall with bubbles through it, okay retention & quite a still body. Floral notes open the nose, it's fresh & slightly juicy with mango, citrus, lemon, light pine, grapefruit & peach atop a sweet base. The taste is dry w mango, pine hops & citrus to start, some biscuit malts & a tiny bit of sweetness again. Its quite sharp with fine carbonation & a nice balance; a good first beer from the brewery for me.

Pours a hazy, pale golden, straw coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and grassy, citrus/tropical hops, with notes of passion fruit, grapefruit and lime peel, as well as a pungent cat piss note developing after swirling. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of bisccuity malt and grassy, citrus/tropical hops, with notes of passion fruit, grape fruit, lime peel and lemongrass, as well as a rather light dankness and hints of chalk. Finishes with a light bitterness and hop burn and some citrus and tropical hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light body and medium carbonation.

This reminds me a LOT of their Session IPA but with slightly more ABV and who knows perhaps that's exactly what it is. While it's got a little more substance and body, with some light, additional tropical notes joining the the strong citrus character, it still feels a little chalky, one-dimensional and light-bodied, while being similarily easy-drinking and refreshing. While their Session IPA felt more like a hoppy seltzer to me, this Pale Ale kinda feels more like a really nice SIPA than a proper Pale Ale, but maybe this kinda watery, quite light and easy-drinking character is what they are going for here. Nice, but not really for me, to be honest.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with fine, soapy head.

Smell is crisp and grassy, quite fruity. Notes of citrus, nectarins and some floral hints.

Taste is juicy and grassy. Notes of citrus, nectarine and some pine. A bit of dankness and a solid, floral bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice APA, crisp and drinkable.
