A beer fit for an emperor. This beer casts aside the fiddle finery of a sovereign and lets loose with some rambunctious flavours! To perfect this beer we aged it in whiskey barrels for 6 months. This Flemish style ale has a nice caramel malty tart aroma with hints of dried fruit. Ruby in color, this brew has many layers of flavors starting with the very fruity malt tastes. Dried fruit, caramel, treacle, vanilla and oak are just a few flavors you will encounter. Craft brewed in our independent brewery in Sligo.

A: The beer is a little hazy brownish red in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of cherries are present in the nose along with notes of caramel malts and hints of oak and vanilla.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has balanced flavors of cherries and caramel malts along with notes of whiskey from the barrel aging.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and a little tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer isn't nearly as tart and sour compared to other beers in the style—it's almost like the sourness has been replaced by the whiskey flavors.
