No longer Inactive ! Drank four months before its Best By date in May. Twelve ounce can (always appreciated for tasting.)
I'm glad this was styled as an American Red as this is better than an IPA in my book. (Don't worry, I'll try keep this short.)
This was my first from Bad Shepherd, so I went on their website. And serving yet another Melbourne beachside community, they are not too different in their enthusiasm nor breadth of intent. Because of that I still give them decent Overall Hugs. As they grow and become a decade old, they can broaden their horizons. But for now, keep improving the brews you got.
Red IPA can compete with wannabes but not classics. Red IPA Looks inviting, but the foam doesn't last long. Smells are equally fruity and malty, indicating a good yeast and aromatic hops. Tastes are balanced with a gentle finish on the buds. This is what I think doesn't make this an IPA by North American standards. And I welcome that. Refreshing and medium-mouthed.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
