I'm normally not that into fruited sours since I really don't like that much adjunct fruit in my beer, but I have faith in Wanderlinger to do the style justice.
Look: Pours a mild, vaguely amber shade of golden yellow with a thin head of satin white foam that fizzles away after about a minute. Lot's of carbonation visible through the glass, looks like a very effervescent beer.
Aroma: Malted grains, almost to the degree of ginger spiced bread - with a generous amount of sour apricot and funky mango.
Taste: Upfront; it's very light and refreshing with tart hints of apricot and hints of overripe orange / mango. A bit of bitter lemon zest briefly, midpalate before transitioning into a rich and malty aftertaste. At no time is it ever sugary or cloying - I'd describe the finish more as savory, with tasty flavors of roasted pecan and light caramel rounding out the initial sourness. As it warms; the sour apricot flavors become more pronounced and dank.
Feel: Very crisp, effervescent and fizzy. Quite refreshing in the Tennessee heat. Light weight with high carbonation.
Overall: Pleasantly surprised by this; I'm glad to have been lucky enough to have been given a can, this is normally not something I would ever buy but it's a fine sour.
