We’re in Chattanooga, it’s true. Just a little more than halfway between Nashville behind us and Atlanta ahead of us, where we will meet up with the talls who arrived just a short while ago. As I’m behind the wheel and in no particular rush, we took a breather from the road for lunch and a beers (plural). Fairly easily found in a mixed use building, but on the backside of. Did the meter feed, $4 for 6 hours, um, okay. You know, in NYC, that would be $4 for 6 minutes so I’m definitely not complaining…

Up and in and to the rear, a ‘C’ shaped concrete topped bar, vertical plank wood base, & seating for 12 on black leather hightop chairs. Barback wall of brick with a step up to stainless panel holding 16 non-descript handles. Glassware shelved to one side, and mug club mugs above running the length with a lit script ‘BEER’ sign piece on center. 3 flats atop, one shows food options, one rotates the tap list, Untapped (beer, style, ABV, pricing for 5oz, 12oz, & 16oz), and the third one is just TV viewing. Crowler crimper on the end of the bar (where else would it reasonably be, right?), and sampler paddles for 4 stacked on the barback counter space.

Walls of cinder block, brick, & painted play all in white, with a pair of roll up panel doors on the far wall. Concrete floorings, white plank ceiling with ducts, ornate chandeliers, drop pan lamps, and caged red bulb drops tracing the bar.

7 squared tabled across the floor and a stage area for live music in the front corner. Cushy couch & chairs along the windows, merch area, board games racked, and a to-go cooler. Lots of local art, barrels, and potted plants. Vinyl, man. Records racked in the corner. If you buy a record, you get to play it. I like. And then 2 long shared hightops in the side room space with views of the brewery space behind glass.

Through to the gallery around the bend, the far side room for events or private something. 5 hightops tables, barrels racked, & more local art for sale. And an out front parkinglotside seating pen, some of it umbrella’d up.

12 beers, a good mix of Lager, Hop, Sour, and Roast (Lite Speed, American Light Lager, 4%; Stimulus Czech, Bohemian Pilsner, 4.5%; Wanderlinger Lager, Munich Helles, 4.8%; Oktoberfestbier, Marzen, 6%; Oranga’Tang, Pale Ale, 5.4%; Joose Caboose, NE IPA, 6%; Polar Blades, Cold IPA, 6.5%; 100 Day IPA, WC IPA, 6.7%; Razbeary Cub, Fruited Sour, 4.7%; Pineapple Pool Party, Fruited Sour, 6.3%; Blackbeary Hug, Fruited Sour, 6.7%; Stout of Tune, Oatmeal Stout, 5.6%), + a single cider (Gypsy Circus Raindancer Cider, 6.2%).

Took in a few on shorty & taster. Started with the Oktoberfest, Marzen, bready, tasty, tasty; Stimulus Czech, Bohemian Pilsner, earthy, easy drinker; Wanderlinger Lager, Munich Helles, crisp, a little sweet, a bit of bitterness, yes please; Stout of Time, Oatmeal Stout, dark chocolate, coffee notes, oaty smoooooth, definitely the star of the show, although the Pils & Helles were also very good, too.

And we got our food on. Started with a pork taco with Korean BBQ sauce, tasty tasty. And the BLT on multigrain that followed was magnificent. Food jammed and the beers were solid. Christender behind the sticks, seems he also owns. We spoke of Covid life and Chattanooga as men do. Chill house at opening on a Wednesday. Low key and Spotify goodness a-playin’. Solid call on stopping in for lunch and a beers, here.
