For those who don’t want a hoppy beer, this is a light sour, aged on real cherries while sea salt and coriander give it a crisp and refreshing bite.

Thanks, Chad!
Got this as part of a nice haul from Chad on his latest work trip to San Diego. He has raved about Lead Dog, but I think this would be my first time having one from them. I had to add this to Beer Advocate, so my guess it was a very new beer. On the can it read, “This delicious Gose is touched by a hint of sea salt which lends to a refreshing and crisp tartness that may be enjoyed by sour lovers. And even those who still have their training wheels on. We age this Gose with sweet and tart cherries to deliver a red color and slightly sweet finish.” Was looking forward to it.
Poured a medium amber clear color with one finger of fizzy off-white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Average watery lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled tart cherries up front, followed immediately by sea salt. Also cranberry, coriander peel, citrus zest, cereal and grass. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted a little better than the nose. Not as much a salt as I would’ve thought, which I didn’t mind. Got cherry, cranberry, coriander zest, cereal, grain, hints of cinnamon and earthy salt grass. (Taste - 3.75)
Light body. Thin-to-oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Still new to the style, but this was at least very good overall. I was back and forth on a few of the categories. (Overall - 3.75)
