Thanks, Chad!

Was grateful for pulling in this, along with 16 others, from Chad and Bill on a recent work trip to Reno, Nev. Had a few Lead Dog beers before, giving The Dankster DIPA a 4.15, Intergalactic NE DIPA a 3.81 and Anything Gose a 3.76. Knew nothing about it going in, only that it was hazy.

Poured a bright golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Some bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled sugary orange blossom, peach, passion fruit, floral and stone fruit. No idea on hops, but would guess Citra, Mandarina Bavaria and Mosaic. More hops from and even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted about as good as the nose. For hops would guess Mandarina Bavaria, Motueka and Simcoe. Also mandarin, tangerine, peach, peppery spice, passion fruit, herbal, pineapple, red apple and earthy pilsner malt. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Really liked this beer. Had to be Mandarina Bavaria. Outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

This was a pretty decent milder IPA. Part of the proceeds goes to the Redding fire relief fund, which is nice.

Look: very hazy yellow with an thick chalk white head

Aroma: citrus, pineapple, mango

Taste: It is very juicy, citrus, pineapple, mango, not a lot of hops for an IPA but easy drinking.

Feel: light-medium body

No canned date but recently released

Appearance - Pours hazy and mellow orange in color with an off-white, near two-finger width head. Fair retention before dying down to a thin, consistent layer of surface suds. Good lacing with broken webbing decorating half the glass.

Smell - Tropical and stonefruit character on the nose; hints of guava, mango, peach and lesser orange. Faint spice.

Taste - Follows the nose. Guava and peach mostly, with lesser notes of mango, orange and a hint of spice. Some pith bitterness hits near the finish, leading to a juicy, slightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with soft, tingly carbonation. Slick, lightly creamy texture makes this an easy drinker.

Overall - Good Double Hazy, but there's nothing terribly exciting here; maybe a bit sweet for me to love completely. Pretty cool though that a good chunk of the profits from this beer are going toward helping those who've been impacted from the Redding area fires.
