Skölsch! pours a clear golden color with a nice, long-lasting head. The aroma is strong and filled with bright cereal. The flavor is also strong, lots there, lots of bright cereal, creamy and sweeter. Good feel. Overall, its a kolsch, but packed with kolsch flavor.

After Köln Pub crawl in 2021, I rate this very close to on style. I little too flavorful but NOT a problem. I love it!

Pours a clear lemon yellow with a thin white cap. Aroma is faint, grassy hops, biscuits, some corn. Flavor follows the nose, a touch sweet up front. Feel is light bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall, a fine summer beer from a local brewery.

16oz can into a Kolsch glass.
L: Pours lightly yeasted clear light straw gold w a 1" white head w good retention, large carbo bubbles, random skeletal lacing.
S: Toasted bread, caramel, moist field grass, pastry dough ie filo dough.
T: Floral, lightly sweet, subtle fruit flavors, a trace of honey. Extremely well balanced, clean tasting w very little aftertaste.
F: Crisp & clean w a fast escaping lightly drying finish.
O: A beautiful and elegant tasting beer. Superior flavor (lightly fruity) and a lovely feel. Very easy drinking, light and tasty. It is excellent in its style.

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Clear yellow, good head.

Smell: Hay, light fruitiness. Not very much there.

Taste: Light, corny sweetness, bit of fruit, light hay and grass in the finish.

Overall: One more from the Utepils mix pack. This is a decent Kolsch style, an easy drinker with a little different flavor than your adjunct lagers.

This beer poursa clear deep straw with a moderate head. The aroma is clean with notes of fresh baked bread, hay, lemon peel, and grass. The flavor is rich and tasty, with fresh baked bread, sunflower seeds, and toasted almond. The mouthfeel is crisply carbonated but richly textured. Overall a really tasty and balanced beer that is utterly moreish.

16oz can decked out in MN Vikings BS: renamed "SKOLsch".... Go team? Watching the Vikes always gives ample reason to reach for my local swill to immediately chug down the ole gullet-hole

Typical shitty weak look and smell for the style, but solid german barley flavor comes through with aromatic hops imparting a great deal of subtle positive qualities. Another winner from this underrated brewery

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, medium golden color a neat and clean white head. SRM of 6. (3.75)

Aroma: Mild aromas of fruit esters upfront including citrus, orchardfruit, and vinous aromas. Then I'm getting a cracker biscuit malt with and peppery yeast. Subtle sweet orchard apple in the back with maybe some citrus. (4.00)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with more fruity yeast. There's apple, orchardfruit, vinous notes, and light citrus, and even some flower.. Then yeast and pepper that is palate cleansing so I don't get as much fruit as the nose. Some Noble fruity and grassy hops. No bitterness. Very dry. No apparent alcohol. (4.00)

Feel: Well-carbonated. Light and crisp. Peppery carbonation cleans the palate off completely. No residual sweetness. (4.00)

Compared to Waconia Carver County Kolsch 5/19/22: Pours a slightly lighter color, similar head. More fruity aromas. More fruity yeast, orchardfruit, citrus, and vinous notes. Less bready yeast. Less metallic. More fruity overall.

Compared to Fruh Kolsch 6/9/22: Pours a darker color, similar head. Milder aromas. More fruity and floral notes. Less authentic Kolsch yeast and Munich malt. Winner: Skolsch

Compared to Schell Lake Escape Kolsch 7/27/22: Pours similar, stronger aromas. More citrus, grass, honeysuckle, yeast. Less sweet grape notes. Winner: Skolsch

Compared to New Glarus Kid Kolsch 8/3/22: Pours identical. Milder aromas. More dried grains, cracker, cereal malt. Less fruity lemon and apple. A dryer, breadier and more earthy yeast and beer.
5/2024: Pours darker, milder head. Milder aromas. More smooth bread malts. Less fruity grape yeast. Smoother.

Compared to BlackStack That's Bier 9/25/22: Pours slightly darker, stronger head. Milder aromas. More dry, bready grains and yeast. Less sweet fruity and vinous notes. More carbonated and dryer.

Compared to Fair State Kold 5/2023: Pours slightly clearer, stronger head. Stronger aromas. More grassy and floral yeast. Less citrus and vinous fruit. More bready and less grains and yeast.
8/24: Pours identical. Milder aromas. More smooth bread malts. Less complex yeast. Sweeter

Compared to Dovetail Kolsch 7/2023: Pours darker, clearer. Milder head and aromas. More smooth bread malts. Less toasted, yeasty, and vinous. Less flavors all around, but similar. Winner: Dovetail
6/25: Pours similar. Less crackery grains. More smooth grape and yeast.

to MORE Kolsch 7/24: Smaller head. Similar aromas and flavors. Slightly more fruity. Nearly identical.

to Utepils Keller Pils 9/24: Pours similar, stronger aromas. More bread and yeasty notes. Less sweet.

Overall: Very much to style and done well here. The fruit is light, but the body is light enough to allow it to come forth. It leans bready. The high carbonation is cleansing making an extremely light and crisp. Nice fruity notes and leans bready and biscuity. Still clean and crisp, that this is a summer, lawnmower drinking beer that is 10x better than an American light lager. Bready, but I prefer this one. (Rating: 4.04)

From the tap it pours a fairly clear golden color. 1 finger white head. The head retention is good. No lacing on the glass.
The nose is non existent.
Taste somewhat bland up front. It then becomes interesting. It has a light kind of earthy flavor. Hint of sweetness.
The body is light, as expected.
I am not the biggest fan of this style, but it is really tasting good.
