16oz pounder
Look I cannot comment on.. The smell is 10/10 lush dank pine forrest filled with tropical hop berries. Taste goes sorta metallic and rusty - hop overload
Solid IPA from a solid brewery. These guys don't make a bad beer

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden amber color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted malt, toffee, caramel and pine notes. Sweet caramel, roasted malt, light citrus and a piney bitterness.

The aroma has moderate strength - easily picked up pouring the beer. Sweet citrus and melon, floral, with a touch of a promise of piney bitterness.
Very tall, off-white, thick and creamy head with excellent retention, leaving thick and sticky lacing as it recedes to a rocky surface. Crystal clear golden amber with some bubbles rising. Excellent looker.
The taste is quite flavorful. The aforementioned floral and melon. Malty sweetness provides balance. The piney bitterness promised holds off until the middle and then carries through to the finish, leaving a pleasantly bitter aftertaste with a moderate piney and citrus taste remaining on the tongue.
The body is moderate to thin. Half way between smooth and biting. IOW, a good balance to the feel.
Overall, a nicely done throw-back IPA of the Midwest style, clean and tasty, with a moderate and pleasant level of bitterness lingering well into the aftertaste.
While not a standout among the local IPAs of the style (which is more of a recognition of the excellent IPAs available locally than it is a criticism of this well-done example), it is good to see a new IPA from one of our newer locals that is NOT murky, turbid, the hops burning your throat, and with that shade of muddy brown the fans call "orange" (and pretend that it actually is with help from photo apps).

Can at The Sheridan Room, Minneapolis, MN
A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of herbal hops are present in the nose along with notes of pine.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of herbal and piney hops along with a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a nice bite from the herbal hops. It's like an old school IPA.

Clear amber color with a dense head that had good retention and nice lacing. Not the most aromatic IPA but I do detect some herbal hops and some malt that seems to be on the sweet side. After drinking a can of this I am comfortable calling this a Midwest IPA. Not the brutal hoppiness of the West Coast examples, not the estery and malty East Coast ones, and not juicy sweet bullshit NE IPA's. A moderate bitterness complimented by the hop flavors of grass, citrus, mild dank, and herbal qualities. Nothing upfront dominating but all complimentary. Malt adds a bit of sweetness but is not cloying and manages to finish crisp and dry. Perfect IPA body and carbonation. Not a beer for the juice hounds, but for those that seek proper IPAs, this sure hits the spot.
