Pours a jet black with a trace of head that quickly vanishes without any lacing. Aroma of vanilla and molasses. Taste follows nose. A bit thin in a good way.

Poured from a twelve ounce bottle, the body silently enters the glass black as night. Neither head nor lacing.
Aroma is a delightful sweet bourbon barrel. A little boozy, but that's a feature not a bug
Taste follows nose as the barrel dominates. While the barrel is forward, it's not too aggressive or hot. A sipper for certain. A light malt backbone appears as it warmed adding depth.
Mouthfeel is luxurious: soft and smooth. A wee trace of carbonation feels appropriate to this stout.
