This Plume Ruffled has all of the great hazelnut characteristics that I’ve come to love from Horus stouts, but with a great touch of oak-derived vanilla from the Woodford Reserve barrel. At 50°, it has a bit too much chocolate covered/cherry cordial thing going on, but eventually it settles down, and the rich, bittersweet coffee shows up. Drinks a bit thinner than I expected, but that could be barrel-related. Overall, great beer.
