Poured at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with a thin layer of off-white head. The nose is insane. Huge notes of toffee, hazelnuts, vanilla, marshmallow, chocolate, milk, and a hint of maple.
The taste is really nice. Sweet toffee, hazelnut, maple syrup, big vanilla, chocolate, big dark fruit (plums, raisins), red wine, and just a hint of leather on the back end. The ABV is not detectable. Mouthfeel is pretty thick and viscous. Overall, a really nice barleywine that leans towards the sweet side. I don't think it went over the edge, in terms of sweetness.
