Nose is initially all hazelnut, subtle coffee roast. After it opens up a little you get some tinniness, but nice notes of stewed fruit follow.
Good medium body, with a lot of natural dark chocolate coming from the base, balanced with the hazelnut gives lots of Nutella vibes. Barrel brings dryness, subtle bitterness from the oak. Finishes with rich, burnt caramel.
Good warmth on the finish. The sweet tail is balanced well by the influence of the French oak.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a beautiful dark brown with a creamy (thin) layer of head. I'm immediately hit with hazelnut on the news. Super smooth. Milk chocolate, cream, vanilla and oak. Not really picking up any coffee on the nose.
The taste is fantastic. An explosion of flavors and no hint of alcohol. Rich chocolate, super smooth and delicate note of coffee, light barrel, tons of hazelnuts, a hint of cinnamon, bread, malts, caramel, and an interesting note of apple pie with whipped cream on top. After the beer warms, I start to get a burnt marshmallow note. Seriously, this is a fantastic beer.
The mouthfeel is medium to thick, with a nice aftertaste of hazelnut cream and slight oak.
