Poured at fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with zero head. Super thick! The nose is toffee, chocolate, loads of bourbon, tons of vanilla, dark fruit, and a hint of brown sugar. Slight roasted malts and a bit of marshmallow.
The taste is off the charts. Holy crap. I haven't tasted something this smooth in a long time. Huge chocolate, molasses, toffee, black licorice, birthday cake, vanilla, bourbon, toasted coconut, figs, prunes, and slight maple. Definitely get some roasty notes after a few minutes - light coffee and a bit of charred wood. So intense and nicely integrated. Not too sweet at all. The barrel is perfectly integrated, and the ABV is completely hidden. Incredible.
The mouthfeel is super thick and creamy, and the lack of carbonation intensifies everything in a good way. Overall, a wonderful stout.
