Dark, viscous pour. Hardly any residual carbonation buildup - lazy bubbles rise and fall, but the low head that forms is very quick to dissipate.
The nose is fantastic - caramel candy, vanilla, and a touch of milk chocolate raisins. The aromas are predominantly sweet, but there's a hint of umami on the backend that reminds you that this thing saw a triple barrel treatment and has zero adjuncts.
The palate brings a bit more aggression, and does so well to balance the overall profile. Rye forward, with spice upfront leading the way for smoked chocolate mousse, umami, and a touch of bourbon caramels.
Medium mouthfeel, low carbonation, and a smooth-as-silk finish. There's a touch of residual bitterness to accompany lingering heat, but this doesn't drink at all like nearly 15%.

Black stout pour with a brown collar. Aromas of semi-sweet chocolate with the rye and corn whiskey, with black strap molasses shining through with hints of vanillins to the toasty oak. Taste is booze and barrel forward with char, black strap molasses, anise, and rye, though the unique corn whiskey character does stand out, chocolate chips in the background. Feel is warn and smooth with refined barrels and booze.
