A silky stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar) and rested on whole coffee beans from Carrabassett Coffee Company in Kingfield Maine. Rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and subtle dark fruit. Now proudly featuring flaked oats grown by our friends at NEK Grains in Vermont.

Opaque brown with a thin layer of carbonation on top. Heavy coffee and roast aroma.Taste is roast and milk with coffee finish. Mouthfeel is medium. Not too heavy to stop you at one but certainly not throwing down six in a session. A great roasted milk stout that stands up well!

16oz can. Bottom stamp reads '112224 03383 2187'.
Black colored body, with a mahogany brown back lit bottom edge. Two fingers of khaki colored head, and this becomes islands and a ring. Leaves behind a bit of sticky foam residue.
Aroma of dark roasted malts with coffee, cream and, chocolate.
Taste is dark roasted malts that are further sweetened by cream. Flavors of light roast coffee, chocolate, and earthy herbs. Has a general flavor similar to chicory, but sweetened, because of the earthy and nutty flavor aspects. Has just a touch of sourness (that is complementary). Aftertaste is a continuation of all, with a long and general fade.
Medium mouthfeel, with a bit of sweet stickiness. Metallic touch. Quite good carbonation.
Lots of coffee-related flavors here.

Purchased at the brewery. Traditional coffee milk stout nose. Balanced roasted malt and coffee taste. Mouthfeel is nice and very drinkable. Well-made beer.

Pours dark brown, loose, foamy tan head with very little retention typical of these lactose stouts. Nose is somewhat dull - light roast, sweetened black coffee, some earthy hop. Taste follows; not much roast flavor, slight bitterness and nuttiness, but significant sweetness. Very little coffee flavor on this one. Feel is oily and a bit heavy, like a cup of strong black coffee. Overall, would like more balance on this one.

This is my first sample of this beer, though I tried and very much liked the same brewery's Absence of Cake stout.
This beer is black, with a tan head. The nose is enticingly complex, with smoky, woodsy, tobaccoish notes. Flavor is more sweet and straightforward. I don't taste any coffee. This is a sweet, creamy-textured brew, Take out the lactose and it would be a lot better.

From a 16 fl. oz. can acquired on June 10, 2022.
Dark brown to near black colored appearance under a lingering tan head. Lacing.
It smells just like coffee and cream with a lower profile caramel malt sensation. Earthy hops.
The mouthfeel is high-medium but it really is creamy and smooth.
The taste is sweet and alive with coffee and cream. The coffee leaves a moderate bitterness at the end. It is what it promises to be.

These are typically my jam and I wouldn't say this is any great brew but it has some nice characteristics. Certainly some nice feature here. A lovely dark rich look with nice mocha lacing. Nose is scrumptious - bourbon soaked wet wood, some charred tobacco and mocha. The taste doesn't fall flat but it doesn't live up to the aroma. Roasted malt, roasted coffee and some other mild earthy tones. Finishes with a hint of bitterness and that's fine.

Can from the Packie
Pours a solid dark brown with a hint of garnet and a huge frothy tan head that takes forever to recede. Rich bready caramel and chocolate with a fair bit of creamed coffee. The coffee doesn't overpower the beer thankfully, its quite well done!

Pours a deep dark brown with a half finger of beige head. The nose is roasty with coffee notes and a trace of tingly hops. The flavor follows the nose and it is accompanied by a mild sticky sweetness.
