i should mention that vienna lager is usually off putting to me, the caramely sweet richer malt base seems to undo the snappy crispness i like in pale lagers, and the body it adds always seems to slow down my consumption rate in a style family i usually think more about crushing than savoring. thats just me though, and i have to call out a good vienna lager when i see one. i do not know about the yeast here, its less flavorful than some other examples of the style, and sort of marries in so seamlessly with the grain that i cant really place it specifically, but the beer overall is beautifully balanced, never too sweet or full, and very flavorful without sacrificing the classic lager mouthfeel. definitely a slightly richer, sweeter, nuttier german malt profile, lots of character to this, super fresh. a pretty classic noble type euro hop complexion, albeit fairly resjavascript:void(0);erved in its intensity, just enough to balance and flavor ever so slightly. smooth drinking, almost creamy in the middle, and drying out with the yeast and hops in the finish. still not a style that really moves me much, but this is a very well executed take on it, and yet another quality beer from these guys, who are positively killing it in the early going! this tastes like fall to me, i will revisit it again in early autumn!
