Our dessert in a glass! This chocolate milk stout has been aged on a copious amount of chocolate nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans. Exceptionally smooth and pleasing, the blast of chocolate gives way to a bit of roast and nuttiness. At 5% ABV it, is extremely drinkable. You’ll want seconds on this dessert!

Lost Town Stout
Vanished Valley Brewing Co...
Stout - Milk / Sweet
Whoa, this is like drinking Hershey's chocolate syrup in a mild Stout. Seriously, it brings me right back to the days when my Mom would use Hershey Chocolate Syrup for my chocolate milk. Thick and slick with marshmallow and dried herbs.

I freaking love Lost Town! Both the regular and the peanut butter flavor. This is my favorite beer - hands down! This is the best peanut butter beer out there. It is so smooth and not too sweet - it is perfect. I like it way better than other chocolate stouts including Treehouse Sunshine version. I'd say Treehouse's Clarity with hint of Marshmellow is a close second for favorite draft beer. Vanished Valley has great beer with a decent (light) ABV so you don't get high blood sugar. I even like it better than BBC and I love BBC (also love Treehouse) but Vanished Valley has the best flavor. No doubt I choose this stout!

The beer is black and it boasts a fluffy, porous tan head. It looks great. The nose is sweet -- and, indeed, reminiscent of chocolate milk. The body is light-verging-on-thin. The beer tastes like milk chocolate. Carbonation level is high.
This beer delivers on the chocolate and on the milk. It's weak on stout character, however. If I tasted it blind, I wouldn't suppose it was a stout.

A nice chocolate stout, very drinkable at 5% ABV. Almost a 'light' chocolate stout (if you can get your head around that).
Appearance is opaque dark brown, very little head.
Smell is strong chocolate, very much like chocolate milk. No alcohol in the smell at all.
Feel is OK, but somehow a little off? Almost like a tiny little bit of sourness or astringency. Not 'bad', not overpowering, just a little unexpected for a stout.
Taste is excellent, especially for the low 5% ABV. No alcohol taste at all. Strong chocolate notes, lactose background. Not much roast, malt, or nuttiness. You could almost pass this off as a nice chocolate milk. Much lighter than most chocolate stouts.
If you're looking for a lighter chocolate stout, without the heaviness or strong alcohol many have, this could be the one for you. Good for those times when you want the flavor but not the oomph of a full-blown stout.

No can date
Pours a darker coloured but small fizzy head with low retention, no lacing, dark basically black color
Nose rich creamy milk chocolate, fudgey, burnt lactose, and a touch of roast, light vanilla as it warms
Taste brings more milk chocolate, burnt lactose, roasted malt and coffee, creamy rich lactose, mild sweet candy vanilla, mild bitterness, touch of spice, mild sticky milky finish, slight burnt harshness
Mouth is med to lower bod but creamy lush, lower carb
Overall it's ok but not great, def needs more carb for body and head, nice creamy lush lactose, roasty burnt flavors get a little too high without the body or rich malt base to balanced

Looks dark and chocolatey at first pour, smell is heavy coffee and slight chocolate while the first taste is a smokey chocolate with a smooth finish.

On-tap at Europa Black Rock Bar & Grill
Pours a deep, dirty brownish black with a finger of tan head; decent retention and sparse lacing left behind.
Aromas of milk chocolate, balanced roastiness, wild berry juice, light coffee; bursting, smooth, and neatly balanced
Taste brings milk chocolate, a smooth roasted coffee bitterness, creamy malt notes, light caramel, and hints of vanilla for added smoothness; the slightest blueberry undertones are coming through with the coffee and adding to the already well-rounded depth.
Mouthfeel shows an excellent balance on the palate; silky smooth, and carrying all the flavor excellently
Awesome stuff here. Smooth, creamy, easily drinkable, and intense flavor but never overwhelming or out of balance, making for a stunning low ABV stout.
