Carried from the curb at Beermiscuous. Poured into a St. Feullien bulbous tulip.
I got some foam, but I strongly suspect -- from lots of past experience -- that Stevie's Belgian yeast was not kept the way Belgians know how to keep it. Minimal fruit is produced from the malt.
Looks lack sufficient foam, no swirling protein either. Smells mildly of fruit, but not much else. Tastes are only marginally fuller and no pepper produced by the yeast. Feel is medium body and bubbly enough to cleanse the palate for more appetizers. So in that sense, Stevie succeeds.
I'm giving Bold Dog generous OA Hugs. I've had both their Belgians on offer and both were decent, particularly for a brewer that does mostly IPAs. I wish I knew more about Bold Dog, but their website is under construction. (Not a good sign.) By their address, I see Bold Dog is part of the collaborative complex of several struggling micro-brewers. I hope they make it through the pandemic.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
