Pours a little foam. Standard beer color. Smells floral and a little hoppy.
Taste is pretty standard, though obviously light because it's a NON ALC beer.
It's pretty good though and I could drink it again if i wanted to.

355 mL can from the brewery; dated Feb 29 2024 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a crystal clear pale golden colour, producing nearly an inch of loose, soapy white head that fizzles off within a minute or two. A respectable swath of messy lace is deposited onto the glass, with a frothy collar and filmy cap lingering on - looks fine so far. Unimpressive aroma of cereal grains, grain husk, maybe a bit of sourdough as well as a vegetal note. Where are the hops hiding?

It's not great - I mean, the flavours are semi-palatable, but I'm mostly getting malts and very little in the way of hops. I'm tasting bread crusts and cereal grains, with hints of grain husk and a faint, barely discernible grassiness. Slightly earthy aftertaste that fades to mineral water. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that feels prickly on the tongue; thin and watery, but also thirst quenching. I am not excited to drink this beer, but I can do it without a fuss.

Final Grade: 3.15, a C+. If Pinnacle is truly the pinnacle of Upper Thames' low alcohol options, then the uphill hike hardly seems worth it. Relatively inoffensive, but it's a poor representation of a pale ale - and don't get me wrong, I understand that this was never going to be as good as a real APA. But I've had low-alcohol pale ales in the past that at least gave it the old college try. Their non-alcoholic Summit IPA is a much better choice.
