The beer itself is brewed with 6-row malted barley, corn, and rice as the fermentable sugars. Cluster hops provide a nice "bite" for this pre-Prohibition Pilsner.

Very hazy, with a quickly dissipating head. Aromas of green apples, general fruitiness, and bubblegum. Slightly sour and metallic. Pilsners are supposed to be pale, clear, and crisp , not hazy, sour, and yeasty. This beer was almost certainly infected; Portner should not be selling this.

On tap at brewpub (rating as AAL):
A decent little adjunct Pils (my initial style was a poor attempt to classify it, I think) that is fairly balanced on the whole, lightly bitter ending.
Pours a classic golden with a bit of chill haze, at least. Tight head provides sheets of lacing.
Nose yields the malt side more than the hops, grainy to lightly sweet. Not so good at picking up adjuncts, but there is something other than what I'm used to. A light grassy note can also be detected.
Taste has a lots of the malt and adjunct up front. Noticing it more in my second try. A nice level of tickling carbonation cuts this before a spicy hop bitterness joins in. The adjunct notes carry through, but the lingering note is a slightly bitter grassy note.
Enjoyable enough, I'd be interested putting it against a Budweiser.
