Vienna and Munich malts accent both body and bright copper color. Hints of dark fruit and toffee linger.

On tap at brewpub:
Pours a little brownish golden, lighter in color than many American versions of Vienna Lager (DB, SA) I've had. Head is respectable, minor lacing.
Nose is nicely grainy with just a light honey sweetness, perhaps. It's a little tea-like (or wort-like, if you will).
Taste is grainy malt, and if you like an mildly sweet low-hopped beer this might appeal to you. The flavors seem ok, nothing off at all, but also seems "simple." Maybe it's wrong to count against it for this, and it did slowly grow on me. The malts do shine and there's an undercurrent of brown sugar and light earthy spice.
Given this beer is an attempt to recreate old recipes, taking a more modern look at the beer may be a bit anachronistic, but oh, well.
