A hearty stout that drinks easy. Brewed with locally roasted Guatemalan coffee from Harbinger, there are roasted notes of bittersweet chocolate and dark cherries. Smooth, delicious, and sure to put a smile on your face no matter the time of day.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of milk chocolate, caramel, toffee and cream. Sweet chocolate taste with caramel and toffee. Mild bitterness.

Was lucky enough to have a co-worker let me know that her son was working at Gilded Goat in Fort Collins, Colo., and asked if I wanted any beer from there. I looked up what they had to offer and really liked the sound of this one. Unfortunately I couldn’t meet up with her before I left for a three-week vacation so didn’t get it delivered until July 15 after it being crowled on June 18. Was hoping that it would still hold up. If it didn’t I’d stop rating it. Their website called it “A hearty stout that drinks easy. Smooth, delicious, and sure to put a smile on your face no matter the time of day.”
Poured a pitch black color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki-tan fizzy head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Decent watery lacing. Average retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled roasted coffee beans, semi-char wood, bitter chocolate, roasty malts, hints of vanilla and dark fruit. Not quite as good from the crowler can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted just as good as the nose. Just a solid beer. Got roasted coffee beans, semi-char wood, ashtray, bitter dark chocolate, roasty malts, dark fruit, peppery spice and hints of vanilla. (Taste - 4.25)
Full body. Creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.50)
This was a really nice beer, really even better than I thought it would be. Glad I got to try it. (Overall - 4.25)

Coffee on the nose. A sweet milk and coffee roastedness work well with each other. One of my go to beers.
