a really ambitious beer for a new brewery like this, and like the brett pale, the brett element in this tastes young and a little sloppy, but the beer offers hope for the future, as the rest of it seems really well done, and its only a matter of time before they get the wild stuff a little more dialed in, so the juvenile nature of this isnt that much of a turnoff, but context is everything. its clear for the style, yellow golden and glowing. the aroma is doughy yeast, sharp white wine and wood tannins, as well as a cool dry cereal base, more delicate than i was expecting in this style. maybe a little rye here, some pils malt, and some wheat, good malt complexity in something so light, earthy with some depth, delicate still though and very easy down being so dry. the barrel element is light, i hoped it would have a much more developed brett complexion too, but this is mostly agreeable as it is. fruity wine and subtle vanilla here, cleanish on the ferment, and something that will likely get better over time. i am excited about these guys!
