Beautiful dark poor with a good head.

Very thin, with not much flavor.

Overall an acceptable dark beer but very low abv and not much flavor.

Purchased cold at the brewery and refrigerated at home.
Poured from a 16oz stamped 07-25-23 BATCH 1000 to a Nonic glass at fridge temp.
The body is extremely dark brown and that color is mostly visible during the pour. Once in the glass it looks black with a hint of red brown at the bottom due to the way the glass manipulates the light. A 2-finger multi-sized bubble, tan head sits on top. Lacing is strong.
A sniff brings a malty caramel smell, brown bread, plum jam.
The taste is of course malty but it is somehow both dry and sweet. The dry definitely takes over at the end with a nice chalky, earthy note.
The mouthfeel quite light which probably keeps this from being called a porter.
I enjoyed this beer and wish I had purchased more.

Brown color, but light shines through easily. Lasting but small head. It does leave plenty of spots and a few streaks of lace.

The smell is like dried unsweetened cocoa. Light chalkiness.

Lots of chocolate at the beginning and the ending. This is thin for a Porter...closer to a dark ale. Moderate carbonation. Pretty standard fare for the style.

Pours clear dark brown, ruby hues when held to light, some pretty good lacing on a nice light brown head.

The nose yields heavy dry cocoa powder, a little bit of roast, then a fruit forward coffee.

Taste is mostly cocoa, dark fruit forward coffee, roast comes out again nicely in the finish with a subtle bit of sweetness.

Light body, dry finish that carries a dark fruit like twang to it; low roast driven bitterness on the finish.

A: opaque; very dark brown with ruby highlights if held to the light; 1 finger finely pored tan head that receded to a wispy cap with a thick collar; light lacing;

S: deeply roasted grain and bittersweet chocolate;

T: deeply roasted grain up front; balance between deeply roasted grain and milk chocolate in the middle; milk chocolate on the finish; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: more complexity in the flavor than I expected;
