Keeping the tradition alive with New Britain’s Cremo Brand, we decided to rotary-dial in another classic style by brewing a Bock-style beer for the die-hard fans of one of Connecticut’s oldest beer brands. This traditional dark lager is lightly hopped, and features notes of toasted caramel.

Opaque lighter brown with a large beige head. Quite simple but fun in both smell and taste: toasted caramel malt bomb, light earth hops, faint nuts, and yeast with a kiss of vanilla. Light, smooth, malty, and cool. Flavoring is very pure, easy drinker for any time of year

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, see through if you backlight it, initial thick off-white head fades to a thin skin. Toasted malts in the aroma, singed toast, nutty. Taste is lightly roasted malts, faint bitterness, mildly sweet. Great mouthfeel and lingering taste.

Excellent ruby brown body, very clear; average carbonation; thick, frothy, off-white head. Alluring smell; dark grain aroma; dry roasted nuts. Rich, malty flavor; dark caramel with heavily roasted nuts in the background; earthy sweetness; mild to moderate bitterness. Medium-heavy mouthfeel; moderate residual sugar presence; a bit of alcohol dryness.

This dark lager bock is pretty awesome overall. Definitely better than the sum of its parts. It delivers some great looks and aroma with a a phenomenal taste and rich, lip-smacking mouthfeel. A beer with distinctive qualities.
