OK, so I said I wouldn’t buy this, but a rare Blackstack single sighting in the wild put the lie to my statement. 16 oz. can.

The pour is pale, hazy yellow, like every picture of the sun my kids ever drew. Likely through the power of persuasion, I do indeed get strawberry in the nose - that’s a new one.

Elevators has a strong, unique, fruity hop profile. Kiwi for miles, with additional bursts of passionfruit & mango – the real thing, not the faint, vague fruitiness that some IPAs offer. Side salad of herbs rounds out the tastes. Unfortunately, there’s a heavy sweetness that’s crept into many Blackstack beers of late that begins to dominate & overwhelm the nice fruits by about six ounces in – way, way, way too sweet, with little to no bitterness to control it. Creamy. This can is too large.

Big ups for a magnificent highlight of the hops, but the sweetness is just out of control. I skipped Belly Dance & will probably do the same with future releases until there’s less than fourteen teaspoons of sugar per serving. Pretty good brew.

It’s Summers over 2.0. If you hate this, I hate you. Let it warm slightly and it really sings. The can says strawberry; I got it over time.

Update: After drinking this, I was left yearning for more. I picked up two additional 4 packs and do not regret it. The Australian hops have such a distinct flavor they might be my favorite.

Pours a cloudy straw color with a fresh white head. Smell has tropical notes, mixed with grapefruit and pine some spices. Taste has a tropical start of pineapple, strawberry,it mixes with grapefruit, and citrus herbal notes ,some pine resins and nutmeg spice. Mouth feel was soft but has an underlying grapefruit/pine taste that lets you know its an IPA. Soft and fruity with some bitterness,Another great IPA from Blackstack.
