Strata-Cash-ter. Rocket to the Strata-‘shmere. Don’t be surprised if they ask where the Cash Strat. Strated from the bottom, now we’re ‘shmere. This Strata and Cashmere IPA has gone by many monikers in its short life. We just call it a banger.

Working through my last NE IPAs – unless one changes my mind. I’d like that. Is this The One? 16 oz. can split with my wife.
The color is like oranges & mangos had a love child, or more appropriately, grapefruit flesh. Nose is grapefruity too, with a bit of citrus. Not bad.
Slow Clap – I’ll give it a ¾ clap. There’s a nice shot of bitterness balanced by dried grapefruit, lemon, & rind after rind. Plus, the unfortunate & now traditional addition of a tablespoon or three or raw sugar. As thick & heavy as some stouts I’ve had. Half a can was fine.
Eh. This one has some balance to it, but the sugar content is still much like swilling packets of aspartame off your Grandma’s tea tray. Decent.

Hazy orange-gold in color, and nearly opaque, topped with an off white head. Good lacing. A bit darker (more orange) than Spin Class, which I sampled yesterday.
HUGE tropical fruit nose from the freshly poured can, with bitter and sweet citrus (lemon, tangerine) being smothered by a blend of mango and passion fruit. A bit of ripe raspberry toward the end. Crazy!
Sweet and lightly astringent on the first sip, with a blend of raspberry and lemon rind dominating the first part of the palate. There’s a decent amount of bitterness going on to offset the abundant sweetness, and again this bitterness is quite welcome and appreciated. Some spiciness to the hops, and a good deal of palate-scrubbing carbonation going on.
There’s a “dry”, biscuit malt character happening after the mid palate, while it is distinct, it’s also fighting with the aforementioned tropical fruit characters which makes for an intriguing flavor combination.
Maybe one of their better single IPAs, and at 7.5% it actually does drinks like it should (by comparison to some of their stronger-still beers that drink like “smaller” beers!)
A sipper, definitely.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on February 3, 2019. Brewed with Strata and Cashmere hops. Noes of citrus, melon, pine and spice. Smooth finish.

Can. Hazy golden yellow color. White head with lace.
A nice easy drinking ipa with a lot of flavor. Juicy but a bit of green shows. Orange and papaya.
One of Black Stack’s crushers in terms of ipas.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a fresh white head. Smell is fruity, with melon citrus ,and grapefruit. Taste is herbal, spicy, and floral with notes of grapefruit rind ,white grape, vanilla, passion fruit its mixed in with citrus and pine hops in the finish. Has a smooth mouth feel with hints of pine bitterness and is medium carbonated with prickly fruity hops. Another well done NEIPA.
