This beer pours a smoothie thick purple with a large head. The aroma is dense, red wine like, with deep berry notes, sugar, and cinnamon. The flavor is quite tart - I had expected sweet balance, but this is remarkably tart, and tannic as well, with a prominent blackberry flavor, rather jammy, with a dense pastry and cinnamon sugar flavor as well. The mouthfeel is dense but not too goopy. Overall quite enjoyable - over the top, but not so much so it is just silly.
