From a 16oz can:

Appearance: Opaque murky orange, ok head.

Smell: Sweet, citrus, pineapple, red licorice.

Taste: Sweet, orange marmalade on bread. Sweet throughout but not cloying.

Overall: Congrats to Blackstack on 4 years! I don't chase their weekly IPA/DIPA drops but there was a pile of this at Hy-Vee and I took the plunge despite the $20+ price tag for a 4 pack. This was tasty, not hop burning orange juice, but a nice sweetness and eventual warming from the alcohol.

Pours a dark reddish-orange in color, darker off-white (“khaki”) head. Murky, and opaque.

Pungent tropical fruits on the nose, and actually a bit indistinct. Melon, papaya, a bit of banana, and passion fruit, but no citrus (maybe “orange”, but I’m not getting a distinct variety of orange). As with the visual aspect, it was he nose is a bit murky.

SWEET on the first sip, and with the big (12%!) ABV just underneath — not too easy to hide it. Minimal bitterness. Tropical fruit “wapatui”, in the best possible way, but also a very FULL beer in flavor and across the palate — nothing thin or one dimensional, here.

To my mind, this really is in the sweet spot between NEIPA and barleywine, and way beyond the DIPA / IIPA comparisons of the era before NEIPA took the world by storm.

Drinkable? Absolutely! But a one-and -done for me or anyone else with an interest in “session” drinking of lower strength beers and ales.

I got so excited by the look and smell... but then the taste. Some sort of burnt hop oil mixed with a meaningless assortment of tropical fruit. Feel of syrup.
SACCHARINITY, thy name is "Foregone Conclusion".
Thankfully I am cleansing my palette of that awfulness with their 3rd anniversary IIIPA - Triple Stacks. Now THIS is Blackstack! Triple Stacks drinks like something that is meant to be ingested. When I drank this "Foregone Conclusion", it was just like... "what the hell am I putting into my body?" An experiment gone wrong. As a musician, I can respect when a producer of an art gets experimental with their work and really reaches far out - tastefully. But this seemed to do so in vain; it's just undrinkable.
Will be attempting to return the other 3 cans for a full refund of my hard-earned $21. Truly a bizarre hazy IPA, in the worst sense. But hey, *to each their own*. Maybe you like the taste of a meaningless assortment of stale tropical fruit that's been burnt to a crisp in hyper-saccharine hop syrup.

Pours a thick hazy orange apricot color, This a 4th anniversary beer with 7 different hops a quad IPA. Smell is peach, citrus, pineapple and papaya. Taste is fruity very tropical very hoppy. Mouth feel is very sweet with little bitterness the 12% ABV is well hidden but you will feel it. IDK its too sweet and hoppy for my likes not a fan of mega ABV IPA’S twas a struggle to finish a pint ,well made for sure and worth a a try.

Can. White head. Super hazy apricot orange hued gold.

Peach o rings. Has a sweetness to it. Apricots. Mango and orange peel. Earthy hops. Fairly soft. Can’t believe there isn’t much bitterness here.
